yes, it's real...

finally, a post! i've really been struggling with writing here... for two reasons, i believe. the first one has to do with the fact i'm still somewhat uncomfortable the idea of having my thoughts, feelings, and happenings out there for anyone to see. while not trying to imply this journal is truly of interest to that many people, i recently realized more people read it than i thought! also, i often find it hard to believe that what i have to say is really that exciting to anyone!! so, i guess i'm going to work on just writing whatever i feel like... and hope that my words might cause someone to think, laugh, or smile. the second reason may not seem like a good one, but i might have to argue a little. see, work takes up a good part of my day, and in the evenings i don't always get the chance to access the computer as i'm sharing our only one with internet access with 4 other people (who’s homework and work do take priority). plus, much of my time lately after work has consisted of other activities... whether it's been going out with friends, just helping my little brother (jordan) with homework or even reading or playing with my sister. i do consider a frequently updated blog my ideal, but recently these things have come first... and i think that's alright.
so, let's see... took today off work, and it's been so nice! got kenny chesney cranked up as I write here – all in preparation for tonight's concert. it's been years since i've been to a concert and i'm thankful for the chance to get to go tonight with brandon and his family. kenny will surely be awesome... and i'm thrilled to hear rascal flatts live as they are my all-time favorite. i heard they're performing songs off their not-yet-released album in addition to their older stuff, so that'll be exciting.
oh man... it’s beautiful today! i just came in from a little time out on my front porch swing with my prayer journal. God is so good. practically every time i turn around i find myself amazed by his love and faithfulness to me. yes, yes... there are struggles and hardships for sure... but He's always there! i'm definitely humbled by his overwhelming grace. it seems that currently He's still trying to make me see i'm living my life just trying to get to the next thing, or simply just the weekend. He's reminding me that I miss so much living like that. there's so much every day I don't take advantage of. if i continue this pattern, i know i'll be unhappy. may i continue striving toward that old goal of making each day count... or at least be sure to find joy in the small things and acknowledge His many blessings of every day.
